PHILOSOPHY

Emergence by Design adheres to an Open Systems policy. Wherever possible, we use software for which the source code is freely available. There is an enormous amount of sophisticated software available on the internet which is freely distributable, fully modifiable and completely extensible. We use such software because it is more flexible, more maintainable and more cost-effective than retail software. We have intimate knowledge of the code we use and contribute our extensions and improvements back to the world community under the same non-restrictive licensing.
